PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Minimum Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power shoots in and drives through. Gonzales sprawls well.
Gonzales is looking to clinch but Power is avoiding it.

Gonzales looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Power!
Power tries to hold on but Gonzales pushes him away.
Power is in all sorts of trouble here.
Power is working hard here to advance position.
Power bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Power won't allow Gonzales to get back to his feet.
Gonzales looks gassed!
Gonzales keeping full guard, as Power tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Power wants to control from the top but Gonzales keeps moving.

Gonzales had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Power is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gonzales Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Power's back instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gonzales doesn't have the hooks in and Power manages to turn into his guard.
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzales swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Power fails with the takedown

and Gonzales counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gonzales stops Power from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzales not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Power escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gonzales gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gonzales wants to get up but he can't break Power's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Power has his feet on Gonzales's thighs here. He's pushed Gonzales off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Gonzales screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
