The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hook throws a lazy head kick and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Williams is trying to work for a kimura but Hook is defending well.
Hook tries to kick Williams off but Williams keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hook is in trouble now - Williams has advanced to mount! Williams working for a submission but Hook is keeping him at bay. Williams goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hook is on top in guard.
Williams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hook wants to clinch. Hook slaps away a takedown attempt from Williams, before circling back to the center of the mat. Williams tries to bum rush Hook with a series of wild strikes but Hook uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hook throws a head kick that Williams semi-blocks.

Hook stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hook wants it to stay on the feet. Williams stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hook. Hook looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hook misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
