Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osorolh Darar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boston Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Osorolh Darar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boston Dean!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darar throws a low kick but Dean moves out of range easily.
Dean fails with the takedown.
Dean sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Darar missing with a left hand there. Dean was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dean fails with a takedown attempt.
Dean shoots in for a double leg but Darar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Osorolh Darar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boston Dean.

Darar thumps Dean with a low kick.
Darar misses with a low kick.
Dean looks for a takedown but Darar sprawls well.

Osorolh Darar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Darar wants to get back to his feet but Dean is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dean has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Darar pulls Dean in close to his closed guard and prevents Dean from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dean postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dean stays in close to Darar's body and controls the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Darar stuffs the takedown attempt from Dean. Dean gets slowly back to his feet.
Darar throws a front kick aimed at Dean's knee but Dean avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Osorolh Darar will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Dean drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dean slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dean is trying to ground and pound but Darar uses the momentary lack of control by Dean to regain half guard.
Darar wants to get back to full guard.
Dean content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Dean is looking to take a break and control but Darar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dean is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dean throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Dean fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dean tries to control but Darar wriggling away.
Dean cracks Darar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee warns Darar that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Dean thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Dean misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Boston Dean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dean shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Darar but Darar pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boston Dean is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dean shoots in looking for a takedown but Darar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dean's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Darar pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dean will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That was a close round but Osorolh Darar did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Darar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Darar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dean.
