Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rubert Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rubert Mendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kingston Jackson! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez looks to throw the jab but Jackson is out of range. Mendez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Jackson darts in and clinches Mendez up against the cage. Jackson breaks the clinch.
A shot to de liver by Mendez. Beautiful body shot. A left and a right from Mendez both land. Nice combination.
Jackson is rocked!
It looks like Kingston Jackson has been cut. Mendez swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson. Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendez finish him? Jackson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jackson throws a lazy uppercut
and Mendez counters with a right hand that sends Jackson tumbling to the canvas! Can Mendez finish him? He dives into Jackson's guard looking to do just that! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mendez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Mendez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mendez tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jackson. Jackson tries to roll over but Mendez keeps him under control. Jackson seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez wants to stand but Jackson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Jackson is trying is best to control the position here. Mendez is thwarting Jackson's attempts to control the position. Mendez trying to pass the guard but Jackson defending well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mendez is looking to break free of the clinch but Jackson has double underhooks. Jackson gets underhooks to prevent Mendez's takedown attempt.

Mendez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jackson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mendez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mendez is breathing heavily. Jackson has clasped his hands together around Mendez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez prevents Jackson from moving into mount. Jackson just content to control the position. Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Mendez get back to his feet. Mendez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Mendez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jackson backs up against the cage.
Mendez tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jackson connects with a solid leg kick. Jackson misses with a takedown and Mendez counters with a nice uppercut. An inside leg kick from Mendez misses. Jackson lands with a nice body punch. Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson is working Mendez over with some ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mendez to escape.
Mendez is looking for a sweep. Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mendez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Mendez moves into full guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving. Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mendez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mendez looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mendez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mendez counters with a straight right hand. Nice cross by Mendez. A nice combination there by Mendez.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mendez as he avoids it easily. Jackson tries to move into range but Mendez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mendez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Rubert Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendez scores a takedown into full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rubert Mendez dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kingston Jackson's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jackson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Jackson tries for a takedown but Mendez circles away easily and Mendez counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Mendez to acknowledge the strikes. A combination from Mendez does no damage. Jackson throws a right and a left that Mendez avoids nicely. Mendez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jackson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mendez! Mendez tries to hold on but Jackson postures up. Mendez is trying desperately to improve position. Jackson unloads with some shots from mount but Mendez bucks and avoids them well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez is desperately trying to improve his position but Jackson has a good base and remains in mount. Mendez tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away. Mendez slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Jackson working the head and body with strikes. Mendez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mendez is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mendez is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall. Mendez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jackson.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mendez swinging wilding here.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mendez throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Mendez, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Mendez against the cage but Mendez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mendez connects with a nice looking jab.

Mendez lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Jackson falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
