Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Masdival (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Banana Split (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banana Split is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorge Masdival! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Banana Split! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masdival throws a sloppy head kick and Split moves out of range easily. Split on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Masdival. Masdival obviously looking to wear him down.
Split looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Masdival pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Split closes the distance and clinches up with Masdival, looking for a takedown. Split pushes Masdival against the cage but Masdival circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Masdival fails to land with a series of punches.
Split shoots in but Masdival avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jorge Masdival has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Banana Split. Split misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masdival stalks Split and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Split's face. Split staggers backwards, shaken. Split changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masdival tries to avoid it but Split manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masdival to the ground. Masdival escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Split doesn't succeed with the takedown and Masdival connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Masdival as Split shoots in. Nice takedown defense from Masdival. No joy for Split on that attempt. Crunch! Masdival slams his shin into Split's torso. Split looks gassed! No luck for Split with that takedown attempt. Masdival throws a head kick that Split semi-blocks.
Split takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Split gets a double leg takedown into Masdival's guard. Masdival trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Masdival tries to land a sweep but no joy. Masdival is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masdival looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Split puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Masdival keeping hold of Split's head, controlling as best he can. Masdival tries to roll over but Split keeps him under control. Split works his way into side control. Masdival prevents Split from improving position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masdival manages to work his way to half guard, despite Split's best efforts. Masdival trying to hold on to Split's head to control him but Split postures up.
Masdival wants to improve his position but Split is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Masdival is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Masdival is working hard here to advance position. Split is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Masdival is trying desperately to improve position. Masdival wants to control but Split is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Masdival dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Split. Masdival pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Split misses with a takedown and Masdival counters with a two punch combo. Masdival throws a head kick that half lands.
Masdival throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Split's head. Masdival connects with a solid leg kick. Masdival lands with a hook. Split tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Split fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jorge Masdival has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Banana Split. Split is breathing heavily. Masdival goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Masdival throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Split. Masdival misses with a series of wild punches.
Jorge Masdival is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Masdival plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Masdival tries a head kick but it misses.
Split looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Masdival looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Split works a leg free and moves into half guard. Masdival trying to control but Split postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Masdival scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Split manages to mount him!
Split looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Masdival is trying desperately to improve position. Split has hold of Masdival's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Masdival manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masdival is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Split is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Masdival is surviving well by controlling Split's body position as best he can. Masdival tries to lock up and control but Split gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Masdival is looking to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Masdival tries to hold on but Split postures up. Masdival keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Masdival is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Masdival is working to get back to half guard.
Masdival throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jorge Masdival will probably get the nod. That's time! Masdival's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Split fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Masdival avoids it really well and circles away. Split avoids the head kick by Masdival.
Masdival lands with a kick to the temple. Split shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Masdival leaves Split with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Split throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Masdival's waist but Masdival gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Split off to one side. Jorge Masdival has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Banana Split. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Split takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. That kick from Masdival tenderised Split's leg. Split is trying to keep his angry face on.

Masdival scores with a one two! Split had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Jorge Masdival is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Masdival uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Split takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Split bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Masdival tries to bench press Split off him but Split keeps the position. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Masdival on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Masdival tries to get out of the position. Masdival tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Split tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Split working away. Masdival is looking for a sweep. Split tries to move into full mount but can't pass Masdival's legs. Masdival is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Split has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Masdival is trying to improve his position. Masdival is trying to control Split's posture but Split avoids it. Split looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Split prevents Masdival from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Masdival stops Split from passing to mount. Masdival is looking to reverse the position. Split tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Split has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Masdival struggling a bit here. Banana Split has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jorge Masdival is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Split prevents Masdival from escaping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jorge Masdival showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Masdival, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
