Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith looking to score a takedown here. Power is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Power's guard.
Smith trying to control but Power is working from the bottom.
Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Power working a defensive guard but Smith manages to pass into side control anyway.
Smith gets to mount! Power was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Smith looking to control and managing it successfully.
Smith wants to control the pace but Power is squirming around nicely.
Power is trying desperately to improve position.

Smith controlling the pace for now.
Power is in all sorts of trouble here.
Power tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
Smith trying to control but Power is having none of it.
Power keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Power looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Power is really stuck here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Smith is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Power trying to control the position but Smith manages to sink in the hooks.
Power wants to escape the position.
Power breaks Smith's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Power can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet.
Smith wants to stand but Power is controlling the position.
Smith thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Power postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Power wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Power gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Smith is breathing heavily.

Power wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.
Smith works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Power throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Power tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Power knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Power makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Power.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Smith dominated that round.
That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Smith is looking to advance position but Power won't allow it.
Power throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Power wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Power is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.
Smith wants to control but Power is keeping him busy.
Power is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith slows the pace down in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Power knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Smith not doing much here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Smith wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Power's guard.

Power keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
Power wants to hit a switch here but Smith passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Power there!
Smith trying to control but Power is having none of it.
Power swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Power is trying to escape the mount.
Smith looking to control but Power is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Power slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Smith not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Still in half guard, Smith seems content to control.
Smith seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Power is trying to get back to full guard.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Power keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Smith.

Power shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Power preventing the sweep.
Power cracks Smith with a solid left hand.
Power is looking to advance position but Smith has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Power is trying to reverse the position but instead Smith has taken his back - oops!
What can Power do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Power tries to escape but Smith has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Will Smith go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Smith dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Power looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Power shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith counters with a series of strikes. Power will be more careful next time no doubt.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Smith is working to tighten is grip on Power's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Power has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Smith is really squeezing tight and eventually Power passes out! Smith breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
