PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turtle Assasin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borris Snarfsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snarfsky is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Truth. Borris Snarfsky will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Turtle Assasin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borris Snarfsky!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assasin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Snarfsky circles away.
Assasin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Assasin or perhaps it was just good defense by Snarfsky which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Turtle Assasin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice combination there by Snarfsky.


It looks like Turtle Assasin has been cut.

Snarfsky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Snarfsky wants to pass to mount but Assasin is defending the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Assasin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Snarfsky defends it easily.

Assasin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Snarfsky wants to control from the top but Assasin keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Assasin wants to stand and escape but Snarfsky is having none of it.

Snarfsky is in close to Assasin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Assasin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Assasin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Assasin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Snarfsky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snarfsky trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Assasin keeping moving, preventing Snarfsky from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borris Snarfsky dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Assasin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Snarfsky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Snarfsky wants to control from the top but Assasin keeps moving.
Snarfsky postures up in Assasin's guard and throws a big left but Assasin blocks it.
Snarfsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Assasin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Turtle Assasin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Snarfsky closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Assasin's guard.

Assasin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snarfsky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Snarfsky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Assasin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borris Snarfsky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


No luck for Assasin with that takedown attempt.

Snarfsky shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Snarfsky was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Snarfsky has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Assasin's face.
Assasin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Assasin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Snarfsky.

Snarfsky misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Snarfsky lands a heavy elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Assasin is desperately trying to improve his position but Snarfsky has a good base and remains in mount.
BOOM! Snarfsky connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Assasin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Assasin taking shots to the head.
Snarfsky lands with some strikes.
Snarfsky looking to ground and pound but Assasin is blocking nicely.
Snarfsky is landing with some decent strikes but Assasin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Snarfsky cracks Assasin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Snarfsky has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Snarfsky unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Assasin wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Snarfsky celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
