Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ross might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hernandez's choice of entrance music: Welcome to my Nightmare. Hector Hernandez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez throws a head kick but Ross moves out of range.
Hector Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hernandez moves to clinch but Ross breaks away
and Ross counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hernandez won't be happy with that.
Ross in side control, throwing shots but Hernandez defends.
Ross is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hernandez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ross grinds an elbow into Hernandez's temple.
Ross misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hernandez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ross is controlling him well.
Hernandez defending against the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ross sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hernandez is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hernandez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ross connects with a decent elbow.
Ross in side control, throwing shots but Hernandez defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ross throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Ross looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
An elbow from Ross crashes against the mat.
Ross misses with the ground and pound.

Ross throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Hernandez works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Ross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ross not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hernandez is defending against the submission attempts here by Ross.
Hernandez tries to kick Ross off but Ross keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hernandez is looking to escape.
Ross throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ross trying to pass the guard but Hernandez defending well.
Hernandez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ross.

Hernandez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ross throwing strikes but missing.
Hernandez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ross prevents Hernandez from getting back to his feet.
Ross in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ross keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hernandez's head.
Ross postures up in Hernandez's guard and throws a big left but Hernandez blocks it.
Ross sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hernandez's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Ross dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hernandez tries to clinch but Ross moves away
and Ross counters with a nice body shot.
Ross feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hernandezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hernandez tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ross counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hernandez throws a head kick that misses
and Ross counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hernandez throws a lazy uppercut
and Ross cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ross circles away from the clinch attempt
and Ross counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ross moves out of range of the leg kick from Hernandez.
Hernandez connects with a leg kick. Ross looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hernandez tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ross counters with a straight right hand.
Hernandez is breathing heavily.
Hernandez throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Ross counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hernandez is rocked!
Ross looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hernandez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hernandez is still in real trouble! Can Ross finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ross lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Hernandez! More strikes land and this one is all over! Ross jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Ross!
