PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Cowlam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cowlam comes to the cage accompanied by Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Cant Stop. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Richard Sloan!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sloan there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Cowlam decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sloan's guard.
Cowlam won't allow Sloan to sweep him here.

Sloan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cowlam has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sloan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Cowlam is just content to waste time from the top position. Sloan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Jamie Cowlam wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cowlam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sloan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jamie Cowlam.

Sloan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cowlam on his heels. He'll look to pass Cowlam's guard now, I'm sure.

Sloan cracks Cowlam with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sloan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Richard Sloan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cowlam has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
