Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kawakami Gensai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Kronic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gensai comes into the arena with SAMURAI X - Opening blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kawakami Gensai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Kronic! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gensai throws a front kick aimed at Kronic's knee but Kronic avoids it well. Kronic takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gensai checks a leg kick. Kronic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Gensai counters with a flying knee. Nice. Kronic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Gensai counter with a right hand. Kronic gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gensai counters with a slapping leg kick. Kronic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gensai moves away from the strike by Kronic. Nate Kronic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gensai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kronic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gensai.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gensai throws a hook to the side of Kronic's head but Kronic sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kronic swings away with a body shot that misses
and Gensai counters with a slapping leg kick. Kronic throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gensai makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kronic really felt that one! Gensai connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kronic's hands. Gensai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Gensai misses with a hook
and Kronic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kronic clinches with his opponent.
Kronic is trying to force a seperation but Gensai has the dominant position. Gensai tries to land a knee to the head but Kronic blocks with his arms.

It looks like Nate Kronic has been cut. Gensai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Kronic lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gensai circles away quickly and effectively. Kronic throws a right hand that Gensai ducks under and follows up with a left that Gensai also avoids with ease. Gensai throws a poor cross that misses
and Kronic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gensai won't be happy with that. Kronic is staying tight to Gensai's torso, preventing him from escaping. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gensai tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gensai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gensai tries to get out of the position. Gensai is trying to work for a sweep but Kronic has mounted him! Gensai keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kronic trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kronic thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kronic landing shots from mount. Gensai tries to lock up and control but Kronic gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kronic looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nate Kronic. Gensai looks to clinch and Kronic counters with an outside leg kick.

Nate Kronic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nate Kronic's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Gensai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kronic manages to avoid it. Gensai walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. That's one minute gone in the round. Gensai dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Gensai thuds his right hand into Kronic's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Gensai throws a lazy uppercut
and Kronic counters with a nice leg kick. Kronic looks to score with a jab to the body but Gensai is just out of range. Kronic ducks under a wild hook from Gensai. Kronic's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gensai connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kronic scrambles back to his feet. Kronic throws a leg kick that is checked and Gensai counters with a right hand to the body. Gensai stuffs the takedown attempt from Kronic. Kronic gets slowly back to his feet. Kronic's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gensai connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kronic scrambles back to his feet.

Kronic wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kronic works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Kronic wants to control from the top but Gensai keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gensai is adopting a defensive guard. Gensai wants to stand and escape but Kronic is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kawakami Gensai. I think Gensai has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
