The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alan Crump is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Crump connects with a leg kick. Hoo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Crump thuds his shin into the meat of Hoo's side.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crump does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Crump cracks Hoo with a good jab.

Crump fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hoo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hoo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Crump. That one must have hurt.
Hoo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Crump goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Crump feints and then cracks Hoo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hoo down.

Crump fakes the leg kick and cracks Hoo in the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Crump counters with an outside leg kick.

Hoo tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Crump throws a nice outside leg kick.
Crump buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A head kick from Crump lands but Hoo takes it in his stride.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hoo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


That has opened up Doug Hoo's cut even more.
Hoo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Crump.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Hoo might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Crump has got the better of the exchanges.
Crump takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Crump is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hoo can do to turn this around?

Crump turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

The cut above Doug Hoo's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Crump throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Hoo's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Crump dives in looking to finish as Hoo flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Crump's strikes! Crump is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Hoo's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Hoo was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
