Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between German Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepherd comes to the cage accompanied by Bahay Kubo. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, German Shepherd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Do!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Do coming out on top.
Do throws a sloppy head kick and Shepherd moves out of range easily.
Shepherd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Do counters with a series of strikes. Shepherd will be more careful next time no doubt.
Do doesn't manage to clinch there - Shepherd circles away.
Do fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A slow jab from Do misses its intended target.
Do smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Do tries to bum rush Shepherd with a series of wild strikes but Shepherd uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Do throws a looping overhand right but Shepherd ducks down to avoid it.

Do throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shepherd's waist but Shepherd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Do off to one side.

and Shepherd counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Do utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Do avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Shepherd makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to German Shepherd.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
