Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Guido Mondavi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Paul Valley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valley is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 2pac-Street Fame. Guido Mondavi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Paul Valley!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valley throws a right hand that Mondavi ducks under and follows up with a left that Mondavi also avoids with ease.
Valley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mondavi.
Horrible takedown by Mondavi or perhaps it was just good defense by Valley which made him look bad.
Mondavi fails with the takedown
and Valley counters with a nice body shot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guido Mondavi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Valley wants to clinch but Mondavi slips to the side

and Mondavi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Valley is looking to improve his position.
Valley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Valley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Valley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mondavi's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Valley drops back looking for a leg! Mondavi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mondavi manages to kick Valley off! Valley jumps back into Mondavi's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Valley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mondavi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Valley wants to control from the top but Mondavi keeps moving.
Valley works over Mondavi with some ground and pound from guard.
Mondavi is adopting a defensive guard.
Valley postures up in Mondavi's guard and throws a big left but Mondavi blocks it.

Valley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mondavi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mondavi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Valley counters with a one-two to the body.

Valley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mondavi is looking for a sweep.
Valley grinds an elbow into Mondavi's temple.
Valley fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Valley trying to control the position but Mondavi is working away.
Mondavi is looking to reverse the position.

Mondavi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jean Paul Valley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mondavi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice shot by Valley.
Mondavi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mondavi somewhat.
Valley tries to close the distance and clinch but Mondavi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Valley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jean Paul Valley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Valley looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mondavi is defending well. Valley quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mondavi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Valley celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
