Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Donnelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Redfield! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donnelly dives in and grabs Redfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Redfield pushes down on Donnelly's head and hops out. Redfield avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Redfield shoots in and bounces Donnelly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Donnelly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Redfield controls the pace. Donnelly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Donnelly being controlled here, momentarily. Redfield has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Chris Redfield. Redfield fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donnelly misses with a takedown attempt - Redfield sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Redfield shoots in for a takedown but Donnelly shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Redfield circles away from the clinch attempt.
Donnelly tries to clinch but fails miserably and Redfield moves into the clinch. Donnelly is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. That's two minutes gone in the round. Redfield slips nicely into half guard. Donnelly tries to kick Redfield off but Redfield keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Donnelly is breathing heavily. Donnelly tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Redfield sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Donnelly taps out!
