Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Klas Ondahl! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Robertson! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ondahl with a poor takedown and Robertson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Ondahl tries to clinch but Robertson is having none of it. Ondahl avoids the head kick by Robertson.
Ondahl with a poor takedown and Robertson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ondahl is looking to clinch. Ondahl on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Ondahl tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A solid leg kick lands there for Robertson.
Ondahl gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Robertson counters with a leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Klas Ondahl. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robertson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ondahl in his tracks. This has been an exciting period of action! Ondahl shoots and misses and Robertson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Ondahl is breathing heavily. Ondahl shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Robertson counters with an outside leg kick.
Robertson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Robertson thows a body kick. Ondahl tries to catch it but that hurt him. Robertson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ondahl at a distance.
Robertson lands a big head kick that sends Ondahl tumbling to the mat! Robertson takes a step backwards and waves Ondahl back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Ondahl is rocked! Ondahl takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Ondahl is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ondahl walks forward, straight into a front kick from Robertson. Ondahl seems to have got his legs back now. Robertson lands a big right hand that sends Ondahl crashing to the mat! Robertson stays standing though and waves Ondahl back to his feet! An inside leg kick lands from Robertson. Robertson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A slapping leg kick lands for Robertson.
Ondahl steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Robertson. That one must have hurt. Robertson lands with a kick to the temple. Ondahl shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Robertson cracks Ondahl's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Ondahl slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Robertson can do further damage! This one is done, son!
