Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Durrani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Goat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goat is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Impaled Nazarene - Cult of the Goat. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ahmad Durrani!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Goat!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durrani thows a body shot but no joy.
Durrani tries to clinch there but Goat circles away.
Durrani connects with a solid leg kick.
Goat misses with a body shot.
Goat stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Durrani.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goat misses with a right hand
and Durrani counters with a stiff right hand.

Goat misses with a shot to the body
and Durrani counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Durrani throws a hook but Goat avoids it easily.
Durrani takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Durrani's corner calls for a 1-2. Durrani obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Durrani scores with a nice strike.

Goat blocks a head kick by Durrani.
Durrani slaps away a takedown attempt from Goat, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Goat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Durrani avoids a series of strikes thrown by Goat.
Goat throwing strikes here but Durrani is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Goat lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Durrani hang on?
Durrani holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Goat tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Durrani regains half guard.
Goat is looking to advance position but Durrani won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goat trying to control the action but Durrani is working from the bottom.
Durrani has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goat is working away from the top position though.

Goat not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Durrani is trying to stand.
Goat thows a huge punch but Durrani dodges it nicely.
Goat has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Goat thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Goat sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Durrani defending well though.
Durrani keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Goat content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Ahmad Durrani will probably get the nod.

Durrani feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Goats jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Durrani counters with a left to the body.
Durrani fails in his attempt to clinch.
Goat misses with a shot to the body
and Durrani counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Goat thinking.

Goat turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Goat throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Goat keeps the fight on the outside.
Goat throws the left hand but Durrani avoids the punch easily.
Goat misses the shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Goat feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Billy Goat hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Goat closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Durrani quickly recovers to half guard.

Billy Goat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Goat uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Durrani.

Goat tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Durrani was well out of range. Poor timing from Goat.

Goat throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Goat does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Durrani counters with a nice low kick that buckles Goat's knee momentarily.
Durrani explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Goat scores with a jab to the body.

Billy Goat really dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Goat throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Durrani sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Goat throws a lazy right hand but Durrani sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Goat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Goat shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Durrani tries to close the distance and clinch up but Goat swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Durrani throws out a loose jab but Goat uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Durrani counters with a straight right hand.
An inside leg kick from Goat misses.
Goat is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Durrani rather than just go for the knockout.

No joy there for Goat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Durrani fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Goat on the side of the head.
Durrani takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Durrani counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Durrani throws a lazy right hand but Goat sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Durrani throws a front kick aimed at Goat's knee but Goat avoids it well.

Durrani throws a low kick but it's checked well by Goat.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Goat throws a hook but Durrani avoids it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ahmad Durrani.
I think Durrani has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
