The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esquiva swinging wildly here.
Motta circles away from the clinch attempt

so Motta counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Esquiva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Esquiva looking to control but Motta passes into half guard.
Motta perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Esquiva trying to control here.
Esquiva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Motta stands up out of the half guard.
Esquiva slaps away a takedown attempt from Motta, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Motta avoids a punch combination nicely.
Esquiva misses with a double jab

and Motta counters with a takedown into side control.
Esquiva seems a little lost for a moment, as Motta dominates the positioning.

Motta has an Americana. Esquiva didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Motta is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Motta hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
