Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vicente Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vicente Chavez!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chavez is fending him off so far but Hill persists. Nope, Chavez circles away and we're back to standing.
Chavez throws a head kick but Hill moves out of range.
Hill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hill avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chavez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hill counters with an outside leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Chavez, right into the meat.
Hill tries to clinch up but Chavez circles away and keeps his distance.

Hill shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chavez's guard.

Hill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chavez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hill is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Chavez is trying to hold Hill in close to prevent damage but Hill has managed to pass into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hill in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chavez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hill decides to stand and escape the position.
Hill shoots in but Chavez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

so Hill counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Hill will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Chavez lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Hill manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chavez on his heels. He'll look to pass Chavez's guard now, I'm sure.

Chavez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
