Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joey The Gun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeWight Rutherford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutherford is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad to the Bone. DeWight Rutherford has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutherford darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rutherford perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The Gun postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rutherford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Gun, into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rutherford seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Gun does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rutherford is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. The Gun is defending well though. Rutherford let's go of the attempt for now.
