Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manny Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manny Munoz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Santiago! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munoz tries to bum rush Santiago with a series of wild strikes but Santiago uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Munoz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Santiago lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Santiago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Santiago clinches. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Munoz can't break the clinch.
Munoz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santiago has hold of one of Munoz's legs. Munoz is fighting the takedown attempt but Santiago gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Munoz wants to stand up but Santiago is controlling him. Munoz keeping full guard, as Santiago tries to pass. Munoz is working an open guard so Santiago takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Santiago rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Munoz counters with a nice uppercut. No luck with that takedown attempt from Santiago. Munoz stalks Santiago and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Santiago's face. Santiago staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago shoots for a double leg takedown but Munoz sprawls well. He's pushed Santiago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Munoz misses with a combination
and Santiago decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Munoz's guard. Santiago trying to control the position from guard on top but Munoz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santiago trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Santiago stops Munoz from standing up. Munoz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Santiago looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Munoz wants to stand but Santiago is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santiago passes Munoz's left leg - he's now in half guard. Santiago slows the pace down in half guard. Munoz is looking to escape. Munoz trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Santiago is taking a breather. Munoz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Joe Santiago hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Munoz throws a shot from downtown. Santiago moves away and avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santiago tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santiago has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Santiago throws an elbow but Munoz slips to the side and avoids it well. Santiago tries for a kimura. Santiago shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Munoz is trying to defend but Santiago finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Santiago wants to work for an arm triangle but Munoz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Munoz is trying to stand up here but Santiago is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Santiago counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Santiago stands up and waves to Munoz to follow him. Munoz looks to throw the jab but Santiago is out of range. Santiago gets in close and instigates a clinch. Santiago keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Munoz's efforts to push away. Santiago pulls Munoz into guard.
Munoz wants to stand but Santiago has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Santiago is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Munoz is aware though and is defending well. Santiago is controlling Munoz's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Santiago uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Santiago misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Munoz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Santiago counters with a nice double leg into guard. Santiago sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Munoz's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Santiago is trying to work for a kimura but Munoz is defending well.

Santiago controlling the position. Santiago lands an elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Munoz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Santiago. Santiago connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Munoz some visible discomfort.

Joe Santiago showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Santiago closes this distance looking for a takedown but Munoz circles away. Santiago has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Munoz connects with a body shot that sends Santiago's belly button to the back. Santiago darts in and clinches Munoz up against the cage. Santiago lands a knee to the body.
Munoz is trying to break the clinch but Santiago is controlling him. Munoz is trying to force a seperation but Santiago has the dominant position. Santiago stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Santiago jumps guard and drags Munoz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Munoz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Santiago working for a triangle but Munoz defends it easily.
Santiago is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Santiago closes the distance and pushes Munoz back into the cage. Santiago lands an elbow inside. Munoz is trying to break the clinch but Santiago has him pressed against the cage. Santiago jumps into guard, dragging Munoz to the mat.
Munoz is posturing up here but Santiago has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Munoz tries to roll out but it's too tight and Munoz has to tap! Slick submission there by Santiago!
