Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobuhiro Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nakamura has chosen Breathe as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Emelianenko! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nobuhiro Nakamura! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Emelianenko circles away from the clinch attempt and Emelianenko counters with a series of strikes. Nakamura will be more careful next time no doubt. Nakamura closes the distance looking to clinch so Emelianenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Emelianenko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nakamura dives on top into guard. Nakamura working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emelianenko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nakamura defends well. Emelianenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nakamura's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko with a flurry of punches that miss. Emelianenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Nakamura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Emelianenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Emelianenko postures up in Nakamura's guard and throws a big left but Nakamura blocks it. Nakamura seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Nakamura keeping moving, preventing Emelianenko from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Emelianenko thows a big elbow that misses. Emelianenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakamura swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nakamura looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Emelianenko lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nakamura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Emelianenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Emelianenko throwing strikes but missing. Nakamura keeping moving, preventing Emelianenko from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Emelianenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakamura swivels though and keeps the full guard. Emelianenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Nakamura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Emelianenko missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving.
We're going to have a standup here because Fedor Emelianenko wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Emelianenko swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Emelianenko swings for the body but Nakamura moves out of range.

enabling Emelianenko to counter with a crisp jab. Emelianenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nobuhiro Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakamura moves to clinch but Emelianenko breaks away and Emelianenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Emelianenko. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Emelianenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Emelianenko preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Emelianenko dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Emelianenko misses with a straight right. Nakamura wants to clinch but Emelianenko slips to the side and Emelianenko counters with a nice uppercut. Emelianenko looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nakamura is not content to let Emelianenko control the position. Ground and pound from Emelianenko.
Nakamura is rocked!
It looks like Nobuhiro Nakamura has been cut. Emelianenko seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Nakamura has recovered full guard. Emelianenko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko looking to sit in guard and control but Nakamura gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Emelianenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nakamura doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nakamura manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nakamura trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nakamura looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Emelianenko working a defensive guard but Nakamura passes into half guard.

Nakamura wants to stand but Emelianenko is controlling his posture from full guard. Emelianenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Emelianenko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nakamura manages to get himself to full guard.

Nakamura looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nakamura pulls Emelianenko in close to his closed guard and prevents Emelianenko from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Emelianenko postures up.

Nakamura wants to clinch up but Emelianenko keeps it at a distance. Nakamura tries to grapple but his opponent circles enabling Emelianenko to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Emelianenko dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Nobuhiro Nakamura's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nakamura dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Emelianenko. That did some damage! Nakamura tries to clinch but Emelianenko moves away and Emelianenko counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nakamura thinking. Nakamura tries to clinch up. Emelianenko ducks under a wild hook from Nakamura. Nakamura tries to clinch but fails miserably and Emelianenko counters with a right hand to the body. Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown but Nakamura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Emelianenko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Emelianenko lands with a right hand. Emelianenko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nakamura is trying to defend but Emelianenko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nakamura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Emelianenko wants to pass to mount but Nakamura is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura blocking the ground and pound attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nakamura sees it coming and defends easily. Nakamura wants to improve his position but Emelianenko is controlling well.
Emelianenko moves into full mount! Nakamura won't be happy about that! Emelianenko throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nakamura because Emelianenko loaded up on that one. Emelianenko looking to land elbow strikes but Nakamura uses the position to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Emelianenko missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Emelianenko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nakamura keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Emelianenko seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Nakamura is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
