The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre misses with a takedown attempt
and Korecky counters with a two punch combo.
St Pierre wants to clinch up but Korecky keeps it at a distance.
Korecky tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but St Pierre paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Korecky shoots in looking for a takedown. St Pierre tries to sprawl out of it but Korecky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. St Pierre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
St Pierre moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

and Korecky counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

St Pierre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Korecky wants to get up but he can't break St Pierre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Korecky drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and St Pierre dives on top into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Georges St Pierre will probably get the nod.

Korecky has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from St Pierre.
St Pierre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Korecky but Korecky pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Korecky has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. St Pierre is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Korecky jumps guard but St Pierre stands there with Korecky around his waist. Korecky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

so St Pierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

St Pierre is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Korecky is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Korecky flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. St Pierre anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Korecky and secures both hooks! This could be bad! St Pierre slips an arm under Korecky chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. St Pierre has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. St Pierre is squeezing on Korecky like an anaconda would it's prey. Korecky fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
