Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Develen Elvington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill comes to the cage accompanied by Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bret Hill! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Develen Elvington! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hill. Elvington does a little dance to reset his feet. Elvington tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hill counters with a nice double leg into side control. Elvington won't be happy with that. Hill looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Elvington is avoiding damage well.
Sloppy strikes there by Hill. Hill throwing shots but missing, from side control. Elvington is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Elvington is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hill thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Elvington is trying to control Hill's posture but Hill avoids it.
Hill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elvington, who protects the arm well.

Hill looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hill in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Elvington is trying to control Hill's posture but Hill avoids it. Elvington is looking for a sweep.
Hill tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hill has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hill is working to tighten is grip on Elvington's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Elvington has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hill is really squeezing tight and eventually Elvington passes out! Hill breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Bret Hill! Bret Hill retains his featherweight title!
