Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Heizel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis's entrance music is Avril Lavigne - Hot. A fine choice. Matt Heizel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Ellis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Heizel! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis is looking to clinch. Heizel catches Ellis with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ellis moves away from the strike by Heizel. Ellis misses with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heizel misses with a looping right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Heizel counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ellis's knee momentarily. Ellis thows a body shot but no joy. Ellis misses the body punch and Heizel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Heizel slips under a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heizel throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Heizel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ellis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Heizel. Ellis fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heizel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ellis moves away. Ellis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Heizel throws a lazy body kick and Ellis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ellis misses with a hook to the body
and Heizel counters with an inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heizel throws a poor cross that misses
and Ellis counters with a good low kick that Heizel was not able to check. A decent looking cross lands there for Heizel. Ellis misses the shot to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Heizel lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ellis takes a step back to recover. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Matt Heizel will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ellis misses with a right hand and Heizel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heizel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ellis's head.

and Ellis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ellis misses with an uppercut
and Heizel counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ellis looks to land a right hand but Heizel moved out of range. Heizel takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ellis avoids the body shot from Heizel.
Heizel throws a body punch but Ellis moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Heizel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ellis throws a nice outside leg kick. Heizel has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Ellis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Heizel throws out the jab. Ellis throws an off balance right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis just misses with a punch to the body.
Ellis tries to clinch up. Ellis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Heizel counters with a lovely shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Anthony Ellis will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Heizel counters with a right hand to the body. Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch but Heizel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Matt Heizel seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ellis takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Heizel counters with a head kick. That will keep Ellis thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Heizel looks to throw the jab but Ellis is out of range. Heizel connects with a nice looking jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Heizel checks it well. Heizel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Ellis to counter with a crisp jab. Heizel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ellis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ellis fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heizel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ellis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Heizel swats him away and circles back towards the center. Heizel takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Heizel counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Ellis checks a low kick from Heizel.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Heizel swings widly with a right hand
and Ellis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Heizel throws the left hand but Ellis avoids the punch easily. Heizel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ellis counters with a right hand to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Ellis. Heizel does a little dance to reset his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Ellis had his way with Matt Heizel in that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Heizel counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heizel looks to land a left hand but Ellis moved out of range nicely. Heizel connects with a right hand. Ellis shakes it off. Heizel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Heizel fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis misses with an uppercut
and Heizel counters with a two punch combo. Ellis on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Ellis throws a poor cross that misses
and Heizel counters with a straight right hand. A head kick misses from Ellis.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Heizel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Heizel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
