Verona comes to the cage accompanied by Dawn Patrol by The Eliminators. Phillips has chosen Electric Daisy Carnival as his entrance music. Phil Phillips has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips dodges the punch combination from Verona.
Phillips instigates a clinch.
Phillips creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Verona comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Verona putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Phillips in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Phillips is trying to force a seperation but Verona has the dominant position.

Phillips gets through Verona's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Phillips pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Verona counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Phillips bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

enabling Verona to counter with a crisp jab.
Verona gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Phillips wants to get back to striking at distance but Verona won't allow it.
Phillips tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Verona smiles and moves away.

Verona fails with the takedown.
Verona moves out of range of the strikes.

Phillips tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

enabling Verona to counter with a crisp jab.
Phillips misses with a head kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

Phillips has had enough of the clinch but Verona keeps him there for the moment.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Verona is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Phillips tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Verona just stands there and leans against the cage.
Phillips tries to circle away but Verona has him pinned against the cage.
Phillips tries to throw a body punch but Verona avoids it by throwing Phillips back against the cage.

Verona lands a left hand that snaps the head of Phillips backwards.

It looks like Phil Phillips has been cut.
Verona digs a right hand underneath Phillips's ribcage. Phillips let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Verona comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Verona lands an elbow that stopped Phillips in his tracks for a moment.
Phillips is trying to break the clinch but Verona is controlling him.

Verona lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Phillips or not.

Verona manages to break the clinch.
Verona just misses with a punch to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Verona cracks Phillips with a hook to the temple - Phillips is on wobbly legs here! Verona swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Phillips falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Verona wins by TKO!
