Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Bobby Brown has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown dives in and scores a takedown into Emelianenko's guard. Emelianenko is looking to stand up but Brown isn't so interested in that idea. Emelianenko trying to control the position.
Brown controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Brown wants to stand but Emelianenko is controlling his posture from full guard. Emelianenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brown slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bobby Brown has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Emelianenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Emelianenko looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown drops back looking for a leg! Emelianenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Emelianenko manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Emelianenko's guard. Brown is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emelianenko can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brown gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Emelianenko misses with a takedown so Brown counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brown's corner is telling him to maintain position. Brown stands up from Emelianenko's guard - Brown perhaps looking for a knockout. Emelianenko stuffs the takedown. Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Brown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Brown closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Brown drags the fight down to the ground.
Brown uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Emelianenko fails to land the takedown. Bobby Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko takes the fight into the clinch. Brown pulls guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Emelianenko throws and elbow that misses. Brown uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Emelianenko's guard. Nice move by Brown! Brown stands up from Emelianenko's guard - Brown perhaps looking for a knockout. Emelianenko rushes Brown and presses him up against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko is trying to push Brown away but Brown has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Emelianenko wants a takedown.

Horrible takedown by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Emelianenko which made him look bad. Emelianenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Brown, before circling back to the center of the mat. Emelianenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away. Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Brown shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Emelianenko is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown decides to return to a standing position. Fedor Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown looks to clinch letting Emelianenko counter with a right hand. Emelianenko shoots and misses and Brown counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Emelianenko's guard now. Brown wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Emelianenko is working an open guard so Brown takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown throws a nice outside leg kick. Brown closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Emelianenko's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown stands up from guard. Let's bang! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Emelianenko closes the distance and pushes Brown back into the cage. Emelianenko goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Brown thows a body kick. Emelianenko tries to catch it but that hurt him. Emelianenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet. Brown closes the distance and clinches. Brown utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Brown gets control of Emelianenko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brown will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Emelianenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Emelianenko! Emelianenko is trying to stand up. Brown scoring with strikes but Emelianenko is staying in there. Emelianenko tries to hold on but Brown pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Emelianenko is just holding on here. Brown manages to take his back.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Brown controlling the positon. Brown has the hooks in. Emelianenko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Emelianenko wants to get back to his feet. Emelianenko trying to control the hands but Brown breaks the grip.

Brown is riding his opponent, not letting Emelianenko buck him off. Emelianenko trying to control the action but Brown just sinks the hooks in. Emelianenko tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Emelianenko controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Brown biding his time, controlling Emelianenko. Emelianenko tries to escape but Brown has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Fedor Emelianenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bobby Brown is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
