Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tamong Kodo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mja Mjo! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kodo thows a body shot but no joy. Mjo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kodo. Mjo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kodo swivels and escapes. Mjo misses with a takedown attempt and Kodo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mjo thinking. A combination from Kodo does no damage. Kodo looks to score with a jab to the body but Mjo is just out of range. Mjo avoids the body shot from Kodo.
Mjo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kodo counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Tamong Kodo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mja Mjo.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Kodo.
It looks like Mja Mjo has been cut. Mjo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kodo to score with a decent uppercut. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Kodo. Kodo is looking to wear down Mjo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Kodo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mjo was well out of range. Poor timing from Kodo. Kodo with a hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kodo connects with a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kodo throws an overhand right that drops Mjo like a sack of potatoes! Kodo dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
