Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balboa has chosen Gonna Fly Now as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oleg Karelin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Balboa !
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Balboa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Balboa gets a clinch.
Balboa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Karelin pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Balboa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Karelin uses from the top position.
Balboa throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Karelin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Balboa throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Balboa wants to sweep but no luck.
Karelin passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karelin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Karelin stands up and beckons Balboa to join him on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Balboa . No joy for Karelin on that attempt.
Balboa tries a head kick but it misses.
Karelin shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Karelin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Karelin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown but Balboa shows good takedown defense.
Balboa feints and as Karelin raises his hands in defense, Balboa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Balboa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Karelin to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Balboa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Karelin pulls down on the head and he's put Balboa to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Oleg Karelin!
