Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Big Nasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Pert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pert has chosen Tom Sawyer-Rush as his entrance music. The key to victory for Big Nasty has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nasty looks to clinch

and Pert decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nasty's guard.
Pert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nasty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nasty working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pert.
Nasty wants to stand but Pert is controlling the position.
Pert wants to pass the guard but Nasty is keeping the position.
Pert controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nasty swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pert is looking to advance position but Nasty has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Nasty swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pert is now in Nasty's guard. A big mistake from Nasty there, giving up the dominant position!
Pert wants to pass the guard but Nasty is keeping the position.

Pert is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pert with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Pert escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nasty gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nasty seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nasty is looking to take a break and control but Pert is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pert wants to get back to full guard.

Nasty is working for a submission of some sort.
Pert won't allow Nasty to pass to mount.
Nasty is thwarting Pert's attempts to control the position.

Pert has one foot on Nasty's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nasty instigates a clinch.
Pert is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nasty gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nasty tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pert controls the position from side control.
Nasty can't do much from the bottom here.

Pert is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nasty has escaped the position, nice work there.

Pert goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nasty has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pert but great work by Nasty.
Pert pushes Nasty away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nasty gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pert swats away the attempt to clinch by Nasty.
Nasty will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pert is pushing down on Nasty's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nasty is fighting to maintain full guard but Pert has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nasty wants to control but Pert is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Pert is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Pert is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nasty defends it well.

Nasty lands a big shot there that rocks Pert but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
