Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Savas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jessy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savas's entrance music is Seven Nation Army. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Savas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jessy James! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Savas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Savas is looking to work his way out of this bad position but James is controlling him well. Savas is not content to let James control the position. Savas gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! James looking for a guillotine from mount but Savas is having none of it. James wants to control the pace but Savas is squirming around nicely. Savas is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Savas wants to hold on but James pushes him away. Savas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Savas tries to reverse the position but James maintains control. A nice elbow there by James. Savas is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. James landing shots from mount. James get's back to his feet. James shoots for a takedown but Savas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Savas misses with a head kick.
Savas rushes James and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Savas creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Savas blocks an elbow strike. Savas is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but James is keeping busy. Savas tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James swings wildly with an uppercut but Savas uses good head movement to avoid it. Savas prevents the takedown attempt.
Savas is working for takedown but James is calmly controlling the position for now. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from James. Savas looking to throw knees to the head but James is blocking nicely.
James lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Savas pulls him back up using the underhooks. Damian Savas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jessy James. James looks gassed! Savas has James pushed against the cage. James tries a body shot but Savas blocks it.
James wants to break the clinch but can't.
James misses with a body punch.
James tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Savas smiles and moves away.
Savas throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Savas pinned against the cage. Savas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Savas lands in his opponent's guard. Savas wanted to stand there but James had control of the position. James keeping moving, preventing Savas from controlling successfully. Savas is pushing down on James's leg trying to pass to half guard. James is fighting to maintain full guard but Savas has managed to sneak the leg through. James looking for submissions off his back. Savas decides to stand and escape the position. James throws a series of punches but Savas moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savas has a takedown stuffed. James wants to clinch and Savas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for James! A nice elbow there by Savas. James regains half guard. James manages to get to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Savas postures up.
Savas tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Damian Savas will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
James misses the shot to the body. James with a lazy takedown attempt and Savas counters by clinching up. Savas working some nice short punches in the clinch. Savas fails to pull guard.

Savas stands up from half guard. James throws a lazy right hand but Savas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Savas lands with a kick to the ribs.
Savas gets a clinch. Savas scores with a knee to the head.
James tries for a takedown. No joy.
Savas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
James doesn't succeed with the takedown and Savas counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savas clinches. James lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. James throws a knee to the head but misses.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Savas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Savas has escaped and now he's on top! James trying to control the position.
Savas stands up and waves to James to follow him.

Savas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. James pushes down on Savas's leg and manages to get into half guard. Savas is trying to stand.
James prevents Savas from improving his position. James tries to stand but can't do so whilst Savas controls his leg. Savas pushes James off looking to stand but James dives back in and keeps control.
James is looking for a kimura here.

Savas is controlling James's posture. Savas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Savas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. James lands a couple of elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Savas dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for James. Savas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Savas tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

James motions for Savas to come forward. James throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jessy James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James looking to land some kicks to the body here.

James gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Savas fails with a takedown attempt. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Savas. James tries to clinch up and Savas counters with a takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savas wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working. Savas decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet. James punishes Savas's body with a nice straight punch. James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Savas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Savas wants to break free but James has control.

James wants to get back to striking at distance but Savas won't allow it.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, James creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

James takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
James tries to clinch up and Savas counters with a three punch combo that has James backing up. James nods at Savas to acknowledge the strikes. James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Savas counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Savas. Damian Savas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jessy James. Savas drags the fight down to the ground.
James has gone for a leg lock! Savas slips out almost immediately though and dives into James's guard. Savas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Savas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on James, up you get! James fails with the takedown and Savas counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savas moves into the clinch. Savas throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but James blocks it with crossed arms. James can't break the clinch.

Savas connects with a high kick. James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Savas moves into the clinch. Savas softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. James wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Savas has him pressed against the cage. Savas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. James just stands there and leans against the cage. James wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
James stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Savas is pressed up against the cage. James has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Savas down to the mat. Savas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. A nice leg kick lands there from James.
