Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Mota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Blaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rolando Mota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Master Blaster!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mota shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blaster but Blaster pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Blaster lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mota has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mota and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mota throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Mota misses with a low kick.
Mota shoots and misses

and Blaster counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Blaster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mota is defending against the submission attempts here by Blaster.
Mota is looking to improve his position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blaster thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mota's head.
Mota is pressing down on Blaster's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Blaster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blaster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Blaster with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Mota controls Blaster momentarily but Blaster frees himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rolando Mota.
Blaster throws a leg kick that misses.

Mota shoots for a takedown but Blaster saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rolando Mota. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Blaster does no damage.

Blaster closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Blaster lands in his opponent's guard.

Mota shoots in for a takedown but Blaster shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rolando Mota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blaster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mota manages to avoid it.
Mota is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Blaster.

Blaster scores with the left hand. Mota knows he should have avoided that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Master Blaster will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mota's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Mota.
Mota ducks right into an uppercut from Blaster.

Blaster throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Rolando Mota wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Blaster decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Blaster wants to work for an arm triangle but Mota is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Master Blaster has got the better of the ground game so far.

Blaster has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mota's face.
Mota wants to control but Blaster is having none of it.
Blaster pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Blaster is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mota to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mota shrugs it off.

Master Blaster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mota drives through with a takedown into Blaster's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mota has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mota wants to pass the guard but Blaster is keeping the position.

Mota's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mota has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
