Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kieran Hurrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kieran Hurrell!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones moves to clinch but Hurrell breaks away

and Hurrell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now.
Hurrell trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Hurrell passes easily into side control. Nice work.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones prevents Hurrell from moving into mount.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hurrell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Hurrell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hurrell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Hurrell eventually gives up the hold.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kieran Hurrell was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hurrell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hurrell shrugs it off.

Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hurrell has worked his arm free - good work by Hurrell!

Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hurrell has his takedown stuffed

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Hurrell didn't expect that.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hurrell is trying desperately to improve position.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hurrell has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hurrell!

Hurrell wants to advance to full mount but Jones doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Hurrell wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jones is trying to control the position but Hurrell postures up.

Jones has momentary wrist control but Hurrell slips an elbow through the middle.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hurrell wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Hurrell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Roy Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones tries to clinch there but Hurrell circles away.

Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hurrell wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Hurrell gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hurrell will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Roy Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roy Jones.
