Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Blake McThai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Williams! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Williams. McThai throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Williams drives through with a takedown into McThai's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Williams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McThai is trying to keep Williams in close.
McThai being controlled here, momentarily. Williams passes McThai's left leg - he's now in half guard. Williams not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Williams content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams works his foot free and advances to mount. Williams content just to control the position here. Williams with a couple of short strikes. Williams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Williams dominating with strikes here.
It looks like Blake McThai has been cut. McThai keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Williams might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Williams working McThai over with strikes here. McThai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Blake McThai's cut is getting worse. Williams lands a big elbow.
McThai is rocked!
Blake McThai's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have McThai scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Williams land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Williams stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Williams!
