Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Delson Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger McMaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Racionais MC's - Expresso da Meia-Noite. McMaster has chosen Dropping Bombs as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger McMaster! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McMaster throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ribeiro closes the distance and pushes McMaster back into the cage. Ribeiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ribeiro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ribeiro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ribeiro wants to advance to full mount but McMaster doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Ribeiro is looking to work some ground and pound but McMaster has wrist control. Ribeiro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ribeiro trying to control the position from guard on top but McMaster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ribeiro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ribeiro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ribeiro postures up and lands a big shot to McMaster's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMaster wants to sweep but no luck. Ribeiro postures up in McMaster's guard and throws a big left but McMaster blocks it. McMaster is looking to stand up but Ribeiro isn't so interested in that idea. Ribeiro is stalling in the full guard. Ribeiro's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. McMaster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ribeiro controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Delson Ribeiro wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ribeiro drives through with a takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ribeiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ribeiro gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. McMaster throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ribeiro gets the takedown into side control. The referee asks Ribeiro politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ribeiro prefers to stall for the moment though. Ribeiro throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and McMaster works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. McMaster slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ribeiro wants to control from the top but McMaster keeps moving. Ribeiro is really struggling to control McMaster but he's trying to hold on to the position. Ribeiro content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. McMaster being controlled here, momentarily. Ribeiro is working McMaster over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ribeiro in side control, throwing shots but McMaster defends. You can see the frustration on McMaster's face as Ribeiro controls the position. Ribeiro throws an elbow but McMaster slips to the side and avoids it well. Ribeiro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Ribeiro looking to punish the body of his opponent here but McMaster is avoiding damage well.

McMaster throws a right and a left that Ribeiro avoids nicely. Nice sprawl there from McMaster as Ribeiro shoots in. McMaster stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McMaster wants it to stay on the feet. McMaster throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ribeiro thuds a left hand into McMaster's body. Ribeiro moves into range and clinches up with McMaster. McMaster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ribeiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Roger McMaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McMaster connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ribeiro momentarily.
Ribeiro shoots in and drives through. McMaster sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Delson Ribeiro. That's going to take a lot out of him. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ribeiro is looking for a kimura but McMaster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ribeiro to get the leverage. Ribeiro perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Delson Ribeiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ribeiro throwing shots but McMaster is blocking nicely.

McMaster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ribeiro. McMaster shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ribeiro eats them both and turns towards McMaster to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Ribeiro is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McMaster's half guard. McMaster wants to improve his position but Ribeiro is controlling well.

Ribeiro seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McMaster has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. McMaster landing a few strikes. McMaster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ribeiro keeps working. Ribeiro is letting McMaster control him for a moment. Ribeiro is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McMaster off and has taken his back! Ribeiro cracks McMaster with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing McMaster from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Ribeiro controls the action. McMaster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McMaster for as long as he can get away with. Ribeiro is looking for the choke from the back position but McMaster is controlling his hands well. Ribeiro looking to break McMaster's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. McMaster remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ribeiro will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! McMaster turns into Ribeiro and is now in his guard.
McMaster trying to control but Ribeiro is working from the bottom. Ribeiro has a closed guard, preventing McMaster from standing up. McMaster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ribeiro is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Delson Ribeiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ribeiro trying to control the action but McMaster is working from the bottom. Ribeiro postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for McMaster to stand up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ribeiro checks a leg kick. Ribeiro misses with a jab, cross combination.

And that's the end of the fight! Delson Ribeiro showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ribeiro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
