Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Nieddds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix St Pierre! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St Pierre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nieddds's half guard. St Pierre sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nieddds defending well though. St Pierre is looking for a kimura but Nieddds is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for St Pierre to get the leverage. Nieddds is looking for a sweep. St Pierre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nieddds is looking to control St Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nieddds avoid being mounted? St Pierre looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

St Pierre is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nieddds sees it coming and defends easily. Nieddds is looking to control St Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nieddds avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Nieddds is trying to get back to full guard. St Pierre missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nieddds wants to get back to his feet. St Pierre with the ground and pound but Nieddds uses the opportunity to regain guard. Nieddds utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nieddds controls St Pierre momentarily but St Pierre frees himself. St Pierre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nieddds avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nieddds utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. St Pierre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as St Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nieddds wants to sweep here but St Pierre controlling him for the moment. St Pierre drops back looking for a leg! Nieddds is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nieddds manages to kick St Pierre off! St Pierre jumps back into Nieddds's guard. St Pierre has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. St Pierre passes easily into side control. Nice work. St Pierre has hold of Nieddds's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Nieddds seems comfortable defending it but St Pierre has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Nieddds is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Nieddds is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but St Pierre couldn't care less - he's delighted!
