Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barral closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Barral takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Rubio is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Barral.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Renato Barral will probably get the nod.

Barral fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rubio avoids it really well and circles away.
Barral displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rubio.
Rolles Rubio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rubio isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barral stacks Rubio on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barral!

Barral has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Barral seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rubio for as long as he can get away with.

Barral's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rubio takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Renato Barral overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
What can Rubio do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barral not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Renato Barral.
Horrible takedown by Rubio or perhaps it was just good defense by Barral which made him look bad.

Barral shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rubio napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee asks Barral politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barral prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Barral has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
