Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Ooka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Empire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Empire is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Protectors of the Earth. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Ooka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roman Empire! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ooka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Empire. Ooka misses with a hook
and Empire counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Nice defenses there by Empire. Empire tries for a takedown but Ooka sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Empire throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ooka counters with a stiff right hand. Ooka lands with an uppercut that bounces Empire off the cage and back into rage. Ooka with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Empire throws a hook but Ooka blocks it. Ooka wants to clinch. Paul Ooka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Empire has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ooka. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ooka takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A head kick by Ooka misses and Empire counters by clinching up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ooka has clasped his hands together around Empire's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Ooka trying to control the action but Empire is working from the bottom. Empire is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ooka is controlling him well. Empire avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ooka. Empire tries to get back to half guard but can't. Empire wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Empire is trying to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ooka grinds an elbow into Empire's temple. Ooka controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ooka trying to control the action but Empire is working from the bottom. Ooka prevents Empire from escaping the position. Ooka is looking to take a break and control but Empire is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Empire wants to control but Ooka postures up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ooka landing strikes. Ooka controls the position from side control. Empire is not content to let Ooka control the position. Empire is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ooka is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Empire has hold of Ooka's hands but Ooka slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Empire really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ooka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ooka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Empire's head. Empire keeps control of the position for the meantime. Ooka is looking for a kimura but Empire is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ooka to get the leverage. Empire tries to get to full guard but Ooka has control of the leg. Empire looks gassed! Ooka trying to control from half guard but Empire is working away. Ooka winds up and cracks Empire with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ooka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Empire's head. Ooka lands strikes from half guard. Ooka is trying for a kimura here. Empire looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ooka wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Ooka!
