PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evil God (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evil God!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
God throws a push kick but Khan slaps the foot to one side.
God closes the distance but Khan moves to the side

and Khan counters with a takedown into side control.
God is not content to let Khan control the position.
A lull in the action here.

Khan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but God is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Khan tries to move to mount but God blocks the move with his legs.

The ground and pound from Khan seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Amir Khan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Khan manages to capitalize on a mistake by God to take his back!
God looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
God is covering up but some of the strikes from Khan are getting through and doing damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Khan punches God on the ear.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Even with his hooks in, Khan manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Khan looking to break God's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. God remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Khan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Khan keeps control of the position easily here as God tries to buck him off.

Khan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. God knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften God for a finish.
