Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alasdair MundyJones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rallis Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MundyJones comes to the cage accompanied by luv it. Alasdair MundyJones is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rallis Gibson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MundyJones gets a clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gibson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gibson looking to pass the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gibson wants to control from the top but MundyJones keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rallis Gibson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gibson tries to clinch there but MundyJones circles away.

MundyJones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gibson's guard.
MundyJones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gibson wants to sweep here but MundyJones controlling him for the moment.
MundyJones lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Gibson wants to stand up but MundyJones is controlling him.
Gibson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gibson pulls MundyJones in close to prevent any damage.
Gibson wants to get back to his feet but MundyJones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

MundyJones lands a couple of elbows.

Gibson is looking for a triangle but MundyJones pushes his legs off easily.
MundyJones trying to control but Gibson is working from the bottom.
MundyJones is looking to work some ground and pound but Gibson has wrist control.
Gibson is trying to keep MundyJones in close.
MundyJones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
MundyJones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gibson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gibson looking for a sweep. Not yet Gibson, not yet.
Gibson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. MundyJones manages to get himself to full guard.
MundyJones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gibson wants to pass the guard but MundyJones is keeping the position.
Gibson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

MundyJones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gibson misses with a low kick.
MundyJones throws a head kick but Gibson moves out of range.
MundyJones has his takedown stuffed

so Gibson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
MundyJones is breathing heavily.
Gibson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Gibson throws a big right hand that misses.
Gibson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gibson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

MundyJones is working an open guard so Gibson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Gibson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and MundyJones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gibson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
MundyJones is refusing to be controlled, as Gibson sits in half guard.

Gibson wants to work for an arm triangle but MundyJones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
MundyJones is controlling Gibson's trapped leg to prevent Gibson from advancing to side control.
MundyJones is looking for a sweep. Gibson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gibson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gibson throwing shots but MundyJones is blocking nicely.

Gibson decides to stand up.
MundyJones punishes Gibson's body with a nice straight punch.
Gibson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gibson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gibson showed some decent athleticism there.
MundyJones is looking to escape.

MundyJones is in trouble now - Gibson has advanced to mount!
Gibson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Rallis Gibson has got the better of the ground game so far.

MundyJones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gibson controlling his opponent.
Gibson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

MundyJones tries to lock up and control but Gibson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rallis Gibson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Gibson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. MundyJones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gibson works to advance to full mount. MundyJones defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
MundyJones takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Gibson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gibson is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Gibson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gibson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… MundyJones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by MundyJones and Gibson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gibson wants to lay and pray for a moment but MundyJones keeps working.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gibson tries for a kimura but MundyJones is defending well.
Gibson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Gibson looking to control but instead MundyJones has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
MundyJones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gibson.
Gibson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ground and pound from Gibson.
Gibson is taking a breather. MundyJones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

MundyJones is trying to control but can't.
Gibson thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing MundyJones to regain full guard.
Gibson advances position into side control!

Gibson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
MundyJones is trying to work for a sweep but Gibson has mounted him!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gibson lands a heavy elbow.
Gibson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gibson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. MundyJones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Rallis Gibson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gibson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
