Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Octo Pus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Maurer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Octo Pus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Maurer!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Pus.

Maurer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Pus is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pus trying to mount his opponent but Maurer defends it.
Pus working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maurer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Maurer is looking to improve his position.
Maurer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Maurer taking some punishment here, with Pus in his half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maurer is looking for a sweep. Pus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maurer is trying to maintain the position but Pus is very close to passing his half guard.
Pus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pus lands strikes from half guard.

Pus is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Maurer has hold of Pus's hands but Pus slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pus working Maurer over with strikes.
Maurer wants to get back to full guard.
Pus frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pus lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Pus has control of Maurer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Maurer regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pus looking to finish Maurer with some ground and pound. This is bad for Maurer!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maurer is looking to get to half guard.
Pus can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maurer is looking to escape.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maurer working to try and regain half guard.

Pus blocks Maurer's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Pus controlling from the full mount.
Pus lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Maurer throwing hammer fists to the chest of Pus. What's that going to do exactly?
Pus cracks Maurer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pus punishing his opponent with strikes.

Pus is working for a guillotine from mount but Maurer frees his head quite easily.
Maurer is looking to improve his position but Pus isn't that keen on the idea.

Pus has control of Maurer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Maurer regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Maurer is trying desperately to improve position.
BOOM! Pus connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Maurer throwing hammer fists to the chest of Pus. What's that going to do exactly?
Pus is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Maurer wants to hold on but Pus pushes him away.

Pus quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Pus but it's paid off an Maurer is forced to tap! Nice work by Pus.
