The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Face misses with a jab to the body
and Styles counters with a three punch combo that has Face backing up. Face nods at Styles to acknowledge the strikes.

Styles closes the distance and clinches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Face slowing the pace effectively.

Styles is trying to ground and pound but Face uses the momentary lack of control by Styles to regain half guard.
Face really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Styles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Styles is pressing down on Face's thigh, looking to free his foot. Face is holding on for now.
Face tries to get to full guard but Styles has control of the leg.
Face won't allow Styles to pass to mount.
Styles wants to control but Face is keeping him busy.
Face is looking to escape.

Styles seems to be working for a kimura but Face defends the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Styles seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Face can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
