Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Williams, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.
Williams bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jacobs's head.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jacobs.
Williams tries to buck Jacobs off but Jacobs is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Williams's face as Jacobs controls the position.
Williams parries the strikes from Jacobs easily there. Jacobs is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Williams to escape.
Jacobs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jacobs in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Jacobs is looking to take a break and control but Williams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Williams is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jacobs asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobs sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Williams is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Jacobs stands up.
Jacobs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Jacobs clinches with his opponent.
Jacobs tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Jacobs looking to throw knees to the head but Williams is blocking nicely.
Williams looking to slow down the pace here.

Jacobs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Williams misses with a two punch combination.
Williams doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jacobs counters with a takedown into side control.
Williams is breathing heavily.
Jacobs works to advance to full mount. Williams defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jacobs scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Williams?

Jacobs is working for a guillotine from mount but Williams frees his head quite easily.

Jacobs is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Williams has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Jacobs looking to finish Williams with some ground and pound. This is bad for Williams!

Jacobs throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
