The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson with a poor takedown and Cartwright counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. It looks like Cartwright is going to stand back up.
Anderson is looking to control Cartwright's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Anderson avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cartwright decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cartwright gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Anderson jumps guard but Cartwright stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. Cartwright closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cartwright is breathing heavily. Anderson wants to get back to full guard. Cartwright is controlling the pace.

Haus Cartwright has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Anderson has his takedown stuffed and Cartwright counters by clinching up. Cartwright ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cartwright no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Anderson wants to control from the top but Cartwright keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cartwright thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Cartwright controls Anderson momentarily but Anderson frees himself. Anderson trying to control but Cartwright is working from the bottom. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cartwright is keeping the position for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Turd Anderson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cartwright avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Haus Cartwright. Well Cartwright has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
