Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joachim Van Den Bossche! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Royale! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Den Bossche shoots in and gets a takedown into Royale's guard. Van Den Bossche looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Royale is looking to stand up but Van Den Bossche isn't so interested in that idea. Royale has control of Van Den Bossche's left arm, preventing Van Den Bossche from doing any damage. Royale looking for a sweep. Not yet Royale, not yet. Royale has his hands on Van Den Bossche's head, controlling the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Royale wants to sweep here but Van Den Bossche controlling him for the moment. Royale is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Randy Royale wasn't active enough on the ground. Royale rushes Van Den Bossche and presses him up against the cage. Van Den Bossche jumps guard.
Royale controls from within his opponent's guard. Royale works over Van Den Bossche with some ground and pound from guard. Van Den Bossche working a defensive guard but Royale passes into half guard.
Royale content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like Royale might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Royale is thwarting Van Den Bossche's attempts to control the position. Royale thows a huge punch but Van Den Bossche dodges it nicely.
Royale moves into full mount! Van Den Bossche won't be happy about that! Royale scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Van Den Bossche?

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Royale content just to control the position here. Royale postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Van Den Bossche looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Royale cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Royale fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Van Den Bossche might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. BOOM! Royale connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Royale is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Van Den Bossche can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Royale pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Van Den Bossche tries to hold on but Royale pushes him away. Royale has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Van Den Bossche's face.
Royale lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Van Den Bossche hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Van Den Bossche tries to land a front kick but Royale steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Van Den Bossche avoids the head kick by Royale.
Van Den Bossche wants to clinch and Royale counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Royale working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Royale is controlling the pace.
Van Den Bossche won't allow Royale to pass to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Royale is taking a breather. Van Den Bossche says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Royale drops an elbow to the side of Van Den Bossche's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randy Royale was stalling too much, according to the referee. Royale rushes Van Den Bossche and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Van Den Bossche pulls guard. Royale slips nicely into half guard. Van Den Bossche is trying to control but can't.
Royale stalling. Royale is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Van Den Bossche defends it well.

Van Den Bossche has his foot on Royale's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Royale works his way back into a safe position though. Van Den Bossche is trying to control the position but Royale postures up. Royale thows a big elbow that misses. Royale stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van Den Bossche swivels though and keeps the full guard. Van Den Bossche is trying to keep Royale in close.
Royale must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Royale is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We're going to have a standup here because Joachim Van Den Bossche wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Van Den Bossche shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Van Den Bossche showed some decent athleticism there. Van Den Bossche stalling away here and it's allowed Royale to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Royale wants to get back to his feet but Van Den Bossche passes into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Royale manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Royale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Van Den Bossche's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Royale working for a guillotine from mount but Van Den Bossche is in no mood to give up. Royale controlling the pace for now. Van Den Bossche tries to reverse the position but Royale maintains control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Randy Royale. Royale shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Royale was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Royale postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Van Den Bossche looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight! Randy Royale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Royale has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
