Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Mallone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtis comes to the cage accompanied by Here Comes The Boom. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ryan Mallone was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Curtis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Mallone! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curtis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mallone's half guard. Curtis trying to control the pace. Mallone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Curtis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Curtis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mallone is trying to stand.
Curtis content to control rather than advance. Mallone is trying to stand up here but Curtis is controlling him well. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Curtis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Curtis prevents Mallone from standing back up.
Curtis trying to control the action but Mallone is working from the bottom. Curtis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mallone is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Curtis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mallone defending well though. Curtis trying to pass the guard but Mallone defending well. Mallone scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Curtis manages to mount him!
The referee warns Mallone that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mallone wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Curtis unloading with bombs! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Curtis controlling from mount. Mallone is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mallone can do anything to dispel that myth. Curtis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Ryan Mallone has been cut. Mallone is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Curtis landing strikes, looking to finish! Curtis with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Curtis tries to control but Mallone wriggling away. Curtis won't let Mallone get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Curtis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. You get the feeling that Mallone really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Mallone looks gassed! Curtis lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mallone hang on? Curtis fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Curtis looking to secure an arm triangle but Mallone defends it well. Curtis with good strikes from the mount here!
Mallone is rocked! Mallone wants to try and get back to his feet. Curtis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Curtis cracks Mallone with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The cut above Ryan Mallone's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Curtis is in the full mount, landing strikes. Curtis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mallone's face.
Mallone is still in real trouble! Can Curtis finish him? Curtis postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Mallone in real trouble here! The ref calls for Mallone to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Curtis!
