Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chun The Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chun The Dragon! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Dragon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Dragon showed some decent athleticism there. Aoki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Aoki is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aoki is trying to maintain the position but The Dragon is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Dragon is trying to control. Aoki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The Dragon is pressing down on Aoki's thigh, looking to free his foot. Aoki is holding on for now. Aoki keeping hold of The Dragon's head, controlling as best he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The Dragon fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Dragon looks for a takedown but Aoki sprawls well. Aoki fails to land the takedown. Aoki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Dragon sprawls well. The Dragon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet. Aoki moves away from the strike by The Dragon. The Dragon shoots for a takedown but Aoki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shinya Aoki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chun The Dragon. The Dragon scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Dragon tries to clinch but Aoki moves out of range. Aoki leaves The Dragon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown. The Dragon tries to sprawl out of it but Aoki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Dragon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The Dragon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aoki sprawls well initially but The Dragon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The Dragon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aoki keeps working. Aoki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Aoki taking some punishment here, with The Dragon in his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Dragon is trying to control. Aoki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Aoki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Aoki pulls The Dragon in close to prevent any damage. Aoki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Aoki seems keen to control The Dragon's posture. The Dragon trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The Dragon sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Chun The Dragon was stalling too much, according to the referee. The Dragon tries to clinch but Aoki is having none of it. Chun The Dragon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horrible takedown by The Dragon or perhaps it was just good defense by Aoki which made him look bad. Aoki has a takedown stuffed. The Dragon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The Dragon looks gassed! Aoki swats away the attempt to clinch by The Dragon. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aoki has a takedown stuffed. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chun The Dragon dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Aoki dives in and grabs The Dragon's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Dragon pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out. The fight moves into the clinch position. The Dragon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The Dragon tries to close the distance and clinch but Aoki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The Dragon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - The Dragon lands in his opponent's guard. Aoki looking for a sweep. Not yet Aoki, not yet. The Dragon wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving. Aoki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The Dragon is looking to control Aoki's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can The Dragon avoid being mounted?
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Aoki leaves The Dragon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The Dragon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Dragon tries to clinch there but Aoki circles away.
Aoki dives in and grabs The Dragon's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Dragon pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out. The Dragon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Dragon as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aoki tries for a takedown but The Dragon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aoki checks a leg kick. Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Dragon as he avoids it easily. The Dragon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Dragon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aoki circles away. The Dragon rushes Aoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The Dragon is pressed up against the cage. Aoki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Dragon down to the mat. The Dragon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. Aoki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. The Dragon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The Dragon has Aoki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. The Dragon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Aoki tumbling to the mat - The Dragon dives into Aoki's guard. Aoki is trying to control the position but The Dragon postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Dragon wants to get up but he can't break Aoki's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The Dragon looking to pass the guard. Aoki looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The Dragon wanted to stand there but Aoki had control of the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aoki is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chun The Dragon has got the better of the ground game so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Shinya Aoki wasn't doing enough on the ground. Aoki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and The Dragon moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chun The Dragon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Aoki shoots in and drives through. The Dragon sprawls well. Aoki bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The Dragon cracks Aoki with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. The Dragon throws a nice looking combination but Aoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The Dragon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Shinya Aoki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Dragon. Aoki tries for a takedown but The Dragon circles away easily and The Dragon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Aoki misses with a takedown attempt - The Dragon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Dragon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. The Dragon tries to clinch but Aoki is having none of it. Aoki with a poor takedown and The Dragon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The Dragon missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Aoki is holding on to half guard well. Aoki wants to get back to full guard. The Dragon tries to stand but can't do so whilst Aoki controls his leg. Aoki regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Dragon postures up.
The Dragon gets to his feet - Aoki follows without any prompting. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The Dragon fails with a takedown attempt. Aoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Dragon swivels and escapes. The Dragon feints and as Aoki raises his hands in defense, The Dragon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The Dragon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Aoki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Aoki trying to keep a closed guard but The Dragon is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Shinya Aoki just wasn't active enough. The Dragon looks to land a combination. Aoki sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The Dragon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aoki drives through with a takedown into The Dragon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Aoki won't allow The Dragon to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Dragon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aoki is one step ahead there. Aoki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. The Dragon is keeping the position for now. Shinya Aoki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Aoki won't allow The Dragon to sweep him here. Chun The Dragon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Shinya Aoki. The Dragon throws a sloppy head kick and Aoki moves out of range easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Chun The Dragon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well The Dragon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
