Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Rhl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Jason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kryptonite. Aaron Jason has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dennis Rhl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Jason!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jason throws a sloppy head kick and Rhl moves out of range easily.
Rhl tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jason manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rhl throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Aaron Jason has been cut.
Rhl misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rhl closes the distance but Jason moves to the side

and Jason counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jason has gone for a leg lock! Rhl slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jason's guard.

Jason is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rhl defends well.
Rhl has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jason wants to sweep but no luck.

Rhl slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jason is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rhl wants to take a breather but Jason is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jason moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rhl stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jason swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rhl got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rhl has managed to get both his arms back between Jason's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jason has an active guard here but Rhl has managed to pass into half guard.

Jason is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Jason has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Rhl escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Rhl!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jason looks to move to half guard but instead Rhl has passed into mount! Damn!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rhl throws a wild body kick that Jason sees coming a mile off.
Dennis Rhl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rhl lands a two punch combo.
Jason throws a combination that misses
and Rhl counters with a flying knee. Nice.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jason is defended easily by Rhl.

Jason shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jason was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jason cracks Rhl with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rhl is wriggling around trying to escape.
Aaron Jason has got the better of the ground game so far.
