PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tashiro Mangara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eddie Bravo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tashiro Mangara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mangara throws a low kick but Bravo avoids it.
Mangara lands a body shot.
A lazy left from Mangara finds it's target.
Mangara misses with the combination.
Mangara looks to throw the jab but Bravo is out of range.
Mangara scores with a nice strike.
Mangara checks a leg kick.
Mangara digs a good hook to Bravo's body.

Mangara closes the distance and clinches.

Mangara manages to break the clinch.
Mangara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bravo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mangara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mangara looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mangara throws a sloppy head kick and Bravo moves out of range easily.

Mangara drives through and clinches with Bravo against the ropes.
Mangara avoids the elbow strike from Bravo, against the ropes.

Bravo is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Mangara can't fight it off and eventually Bravo manages to take the fight to the floor. Mangara looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bravo stands and throws Mangara's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mangara is trying to get back to half guard.
Mangara is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bravo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mangara to his feet.
Bravo throws a combination that misses

and Mangara holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mangara trying to control the position but instead, Bravo has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mangara into the ropes.

Mangara has clasped his hands together around Bravo's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bravo gets back to half guard.
Mangara is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bravo trying to control from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bravo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Bravo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mangara throwing strikes from guard but Bravo blocks nicely.
Bravo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bravo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bravo has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mangara's face.
Mangara wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bravo.

Bravo wants to finish this one by submission but Mangara is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bravo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bravo controlling his opponent.
Mangara is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bravo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mangara has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Eddie Bravo will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mangara's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bravo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bravo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mangara is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mangara managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bravo.
Mangara dodges the ground and pound from Bravo.
Mangara struggling a bit here.
Bravo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Bravo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mangara looks calm but he's in trouble here. Bravo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mangara is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Bravo lets go of the hold and Mangara can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Eddie Bravo!
