Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dick darts in and clinches Smalling up against the ropes.
Smalling wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dick has him pressed against the ropes.

Dick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dick forces Smalling back against the ropes and clinches.

Dick misses with a hook
and Smalling counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smalling throws a series of punches but Dick avoids them all with ease.
Dick throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smalling counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dick wants to clinch up but Smalling keeps it at a distance.

Dick gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dick lands with a light punch inside.

Dick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dick fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smalling misses with a double jab.
Some wild striking there from Dick.
Smalling works over Dick's head and body with a nice combination.
Smalling uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dick.
Smalling throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Dick clinches up with Smalling and pushes him back against the ropes.
Smalling wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dick has him pressed against the ropes.

Dick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smalling swings for the body but Dick moves out of range.
Dick is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Smalling throws a series of punches but Dick moves out of range.
Dick will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smalling lands with a nice body punch.
Smalling displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dick throws out the jab.
A nice combination there by Smalling.
Dick throws a combination that misses
and Smalling counters with a series of strikes. Dick will be more careful next time no doubt.
Rick Dick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dick avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dick drops his hands momentarily and Smalling takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

letting Smalling counter with a right hand.
Dick throws a head kick that misses.
Smalling scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Dick is breathing heavily.
Dick wants to clinch.
Smalling scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Dick is rocked!
BOOM! Smalling lands a beautiful left hook that drops Dick. Dick tries to recover but Smalling is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Dick lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
