Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brick Tamlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Kessler!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tamlin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kessler's guard.

Tamlin showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Kessler working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tamlin.
Tamlin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kessler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tamlin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Tamlin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Tamlin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We're going to have a standup here because Brick Tamlin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tamlin needs to keep his hands up - Kessler had a free shot at his head there.

Paul Kessler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tamlin takes the fight into the clinch.
Tamlin has Kessler pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kessler manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kessler wants to break free but Tamlin has control.

Tamlin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kessler uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tamlin.

Kessler doesn't manage to clinch there - Tamlin circles away.
Kessler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tamlin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kessler manages to avoid it.
Tamlin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kessler moves away.

Kessler clinches with his opponent.
Kessler tries to break free but Tamlin pushes him back against the cage.
Kessler wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tamlin has hold of one of Kessler's legs. Kessler is fighting the takedown attempt but Tamlin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tamlin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tamlin prevents Kessler from getting back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tamlin distracts Kessler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kessler fails with an attempt to clinch.

No luck for Tamlin with that takedown attempt.
Kessler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tamlin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kessler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tamlin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Brick Tamlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tamlin throws a lazy right hand but Kessler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kessler wants to clinch up but Tamlin keeps it at a distance.

Tamlin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Tamlin dives in and scores a takedown into Kessler's guard.
Tamlin prevents Kessler from getting back to his feet.
Tamlin works over Kessler with some ground and pound from guard.
Tamlin is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brick Tamlin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tamlin advances to half guard.
Tamlin passes to full mount!
Tamlin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kessler's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tamlin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kessler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tamlin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tamlin cracks Kessler with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Tamlin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tamlin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kessler in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Tamlin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Kessler is rocked!
A nice elbow there by Tamlin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brick Tamlin dominated that second round.
That's time! Tamlin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Tamlin lands a nice hook to Kessler's body. Kessler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kessler is still on wobbly legs! Can Tamlin finish him?

Tamlin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kessler sprawls well initially but Tamlin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tamlin is taking a breather. Kessler says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tamlin passes to side control.
Kessler seems a little lost for a moment, as Tamlin dominates the positioning.
Tamlin lands a nice forearm strike.
Tamlin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
A big shot lands for Tamlin! That's hurt Kessler! Will he recover? Tamlin fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brick Tamlin!
